Soils and Land Use / Geology

There’s a lot happening beneath our feet! Soil is the foundation of all life on land—it supports our forests, crops, and communities across New Brunswick. It shapes our landscapes, filters our water, and provides a home for countless living organisms, from tiny microbes to burrowing animals.

Healthy soil is essential for healthy ecosystems, strong forests, and sustainable communities. Understanding how soil works helps us protect it from erosion, pollution, and overuse.
