Envirothon NB is an exciting, hands-on environmental education and natural resource program and competition for high school students (including grade 8) who care about the outdoors, science, and making a difference.
Grab your friends! Teams of five students explore real-world environmental challenges through fieldwork, labs, and teamwork—learning about forests, wildlife, soils, aquatic ecosystems, and current environmental issues.
You’ll get the chance to test your knowledge, develop problem-solving skills, and connect with professionals and field experts who work in natural resources and environmental science every day.
It’s flexible—you get out of it what you put into it. Teams can meet as often as they want to study, practice, or take part in workshops and field days. Most teams meet regularly throughout the school year to prepare for the spring competition weekend, where everything you’ve learned comes together!
There are weekend hands-on workshops scheduled to help prepare and explore the topics.
As an Envirothon NB Advisor, you’ll guide your students through an exciting, inquiry-based learning journey that aligns with:
Envirothon NB is where classroom learning meets the real world—and where future leaders in sustainability get their start.
Don’t be!
Your role as an advisor is to guide and support — not to do it all. The most important commitment comes from the students themselves.
If time is a concern:
Once you see your team’s excitement and growth, you’ll know it’s worth every minute.
Find a teacher at your school, parent or community mentor who can be part of your team as an Advisor.
