Wildlife

From black bears and moose to songbirds, frogs, and pollinators, New Brunswick is home to a wide variety of wildlife. Each species—big or small—plays an important role in keeping our ecosystems balanced and healthy. Whether in forests, wetlands, or even your own backyard, wildlife depends on four basic needs: food, water, shelter, and space.

Conserving local species is just as important as protecting animals around the world. By understanding how wildlife interacts with its habitat, we can make choices that reduce negative impacts and help species thrive.
