Programming event dates and learning opportunities

  • October 5, 2021 – @ 4:00 pm: High School Teachers – Professional Learning Session: Intro to Envirothon NB
  • October 6, 2021 –  @ 3:30 pm: Middle School Teachers – Professional Learning Session: Intro to Envirothon NB Challenge
  • October 16, 202112:30 – 4 pm: Middle and High School Teacher PL Field Day– Hugh John Flemming Forestry Complex, Fredericton (This is an outdoor field day with stations for each Envirothon NB topic – Meet natural resource specialists, hands-on learning using equipment, educational resources for your classroom/team) – Must have Proof of Vaccination to attend.
  • February 7, 2022 – Registration Open
  • February 22, 2022 @ 4pm – Geology virtual presentation by Toon Pronk (covering the new Geology Key Concepts in Soils and Land Use) – contact Becky Geneau to participate.
  • March 3, 2022 @ 4pmMicroplastics! A Macro-Problem. A virtual workshop presented by Brittany Cormier, Petitcodiac Watershed Alliance and Kelli-Nicole Croucher, Dept. Environment and Local Government
  • March 15, 2022 – Registration Deadline (Envirothon NB Team Fees due)
  • March 31, 2022 @4 pm – Waste to BiogasJohn MacQuarrie, Director, Environmental Sustainability, Cavendish Farms, PEI. Since 2009  Cavendish Farms has been transforming on-site waste into a renewable energy source (biogas).  This renewable fuel provides a major source of energy for our production and helps us to substantially reduce our greenhouse gas footprint. The webinar will outline how the process works, how we use the renewable energy and how this is an important part of our sustainability agenda.
  • April 1, 2022 – Last day to withdraw from competition in order to receive a refund.

  • April 19, 2022 – Aquatics Virtual Workshop presented by Brittany Cormier, Petitcodiac Watershed Alliance and Kelli-Nicole Croucher, Dept. Environment and Local Government
  • April 20, 2022– Middle School project presentation submission (waste to resources theme or climate action project) 1-5 minute videos
  • May 1-2, 2022 –  Envirothon NB Competition (Virtual) 
  • July 24th – 30th, 2022 – NCF- Envirothon – Oxford, Ohio (Top competitive team is eligible to represent New Brunswick – In-person)
